III. Indicating speaker’s negative mode or complain in Chinese with “有点儿 + Adj”.

1. Conversation

A:今天去不去打球?

[jīn tiān qù bù qù dǎ qiú ?]

Will you go to play the ball today?

B: 这两天有点儿累,不去打球了。

[zhè liǎng tiān yǒu diǎnr lèi, bù qù dǎ qiú le 。]

No, I won’t. I’ve been feeling tired lately.

A:你在做什么呢?是在想昨天的考试吗?

[nǐ zài zuò shén me ne ? shì zài xiǎng zuó tiān de kǎo shì ma ?]

What are you doing? Are you thinking about yesterday’s test?

B:是啊,我觉得听和说还可以,读和写不好,很多字我都不知道是什么意思。

[shì a , wǒ jué dé tīng hé shuō hái kě yǐ , dú hé xiě bù hǎo , hěn duō zì wǒ dōu bù zhī dào shì shén me yìsi 。]

Yes. I think I did OK in listening and speaking, but not in reading and ring, I didn’t know the meanings of many characters.
